Monday, 11th May.
We left Nantua for an uneventful drive through gorgeous mountain scenery to Annecy, calling in at a Decathlon store to purchase a telescopic fishing rod as Mike has been anxious to try his fishing skills in the lakes, rivers and canals we stumble across...it is yet to be christened.
Arriving at the camp in Annecy, we were met by Shirley and Les, friends we first met here two years ago on our first trip with Boris, and again last year in Germany. The afternoon was spent catching up, with a couple of loads of washing done and hung in the sunshine...the first chance we've had to get jeans, jumpers and towels washed and dried in the same week!
Tuesday, 12th May.
Another beautiful day, perfect for our bike ride into Annecy, galettes for lunch, a walk around the town and a boat ride on the lake. We had intended to go on one of the cruise boats but when we spied self drive boats for hire for not much more than the cruise would have cost, we opted for that and it was great fun! A great day out!
