Sat. 2nd May.
After a trip to the supermarket, we walked down to the port where there was a fresh food market selling fresh crabs, lobsters, fish etc and fresh vegies. Had a coffee and then wandered around town for a while and bought a couple of the obligatory tourist souvenirs. Very nice town and port.
We then drove to Point Du Hoc where the Germans had a large gun emplacement and garrison in WW2. Very well done with extensive info on the battle from 6 June 44 with good access to bunkers etc and good views of the 90 foot cliffs that the Yanks had to scale to subsequently secure the area for the invasion.
After that we drove about 30 km to a great camping spot on a farm just north of Bayeux at St Vigor le Grand. Quite remote but well appointed with all facilities including power.
Very comfortable. Tomorrow the Bayeux Tapestry.

Take heart Summer is on its way. You look freezing!!!! Enjoy Bayeaux. Love me x x x
Looks cold! But that appears to be having a benefit of keeping other tourists away for the moment, at least.
All of a sudden temperatures have plunged here too. My Lotto Man told me yesterday he went running at 6.30am and it was only 4 degrees. No wonder it was so cold. nice sunny days though. Not much rain yet..
