Glavotok

Friday, 12th June.

Another glorious day!  We decided to walk up the hill and down to the monastery earlyish, before it was too hot.  The monastery is right on the waterfront and currently being restored so we weren't able to enter but spent a little time by the water before returning to camp.  On the walk, we had seen a sign advertising a 3 hour boat trip this afternoon to Beli, on the eastern side of Cres (the island we visited on Wednesday) and as it sounded rather attractive, decided that we would go on it.
After a swim and some lunch, we walked up the hill  and down to the waterfront again to be taken across to Cres on a small boat.  There were six passengers on board...Shirley and Les, Dorothy and Tomas from Germany and us.   It was a fun afternoon...arriving at Beli, we were taken up the very steep hill on a little train and after a wander around the cobbled, narrow lanes of the small, old village, we all had drinks in the bar before returning to the little harbour in the little train.  There was just enough time for a quick swim before boarding our boat for the return journey and our young captain and his crew (his wife) took us to the pier at our camp, saving us the up and down hill walk.  Another swim and drinks with Dorothy and Tomas before dinner brought another wonderful day to a close.
