It was overcast and cool when we started out this morning but the sun woke up soon after we left and warmed us up a bit. The cycle path was easy to find,
and we are now following the Altmuhl River, apparently the slowest moving river in Germany.
The path veers away from the river from time to time....we had occasional glimpses of it and crossed over and back half a dozen times as it winds through the countryside, passing through several little towns
and thoroughly enjoying the ride....until we came to a crossing where the signs, which up until then had been great, were a little confusing, not only to us but to a couple of German cyclists who asked us the way. We didn't know and followed the wrong path for about one kilometre before turning back to find the correct path and were back to enjoying the ride again, feeling the serenity of the very picturesque countryside
The sky began to look threatening at about the same time as it had done yesterday and we could hear thunder in the distance, but it was an idle threat and apart from a few little spit spots, didn't amount to much and we arrived in Eichstatt in a dry condition.
After checking into our accommodation we went to explore the town, and in the evening and on the recommendation of our host, had an excellent meal in the Restaurant Dalmacija.
