SUNDAY, 20th AUGUST :  In HASLOCH

Our accommodation is allegedly an apartment but in reality is a room with an en-suite and a shared kitchen and is situated right on a railway station.

It is quite small but very comfortable and beautifully appointed so no complaints there.  Well, yes there is one.  Our room gets the afternoon sun and as there is no air conditioning and very little breeze, it takes an awfully long time to cool down so sleeping can be a little uncomfortable, but we've managed so far.

We're here for a second night and have had a lazy day.   We were up early and sat out in the front of the room in the cool of the morning to have a cuppa, followed by a breakfast from supplies we'd bought yesterday from Lidl,

and later in the morning we rode the 5kms into Wertheim, crossing the Main River via the railway bridge which has a cycle/pedestrian path on one side.

In Wertheim we parked the bikes

and spent a couple of hours strolling around admiring the many lovely old buildings

Snacked on a plate of hot chips

sat on a bench in the shade by the river and enjoyed the view

the confluence of the Tauber and Main Rivers

and in the evening, rode half way into Wertheim to the Lowen Garten, a popular beer garden where we partook of a beer and a hamburger each.

A very easy, satisfying day.
