KREMS : 0 kms

1st May, 2018.

Today is a public holiday here as it is May Day.  Our easy day started slowly, strolling down the hill to the Rathausplatz (Town Hall Place) to join in the festivities.

There was an excellent oompapa band playing when we arrived, they were obviously enjoying the occasion, we bought bratwurst, chips and beer for lunch and sat in the sunshine until the band finished their 'gig' and it became a bit too warm, then went strolling along the riverbank.

A few cafes were open so we felt compelled to patronise one of them and forced ourselves to partake of an excellent torte with coffee for me and a beer for Mike.

On our way back 'home' we stopped at the festival again to watch a group of youngsters dancing.

A great atmosphere, most enjoyable and we'd have been happy to stay longer but were beginning to flag and needed to reserve some energy for the hill climb.

The question now is, will we wander down the hill later in search of dinner or will we settle for a snack and coffee here?
