Day Three : SUNDAY, 25th September.
There were 15 motorhomes of various sizes at the overnight stop in Murg, but it was so quiet we could easily have been on our own. |
The rain had eased through the night and we heard that there would be no more for the next five days, which cheered us up somewhat.
Mike walked to the nearby bakery to buy some fresh breakfast rolls |
and couldn't resist buying a couple of cakes for morning tea. |
We left Murg mid morning and drove a short distance to Laufenburg in Germany |
stopped at a viewpoint to photograph Laufenbrucke across the Rhine in Switzerland |
and after crossing a bridge which connects Germany and Switzerland (Mike has a foot in each country) and passing the old border control station, parked the motorhome and strolled around the old town of Laufenbrucke. The sun made a brief appearance, but did not linger.

We looked for an open coffee shop in the town but most were closed, which surprised us, it being a Sunday morning,
but along the road in Aargau we stumbled upon a Harley Davidson ''Open House"
with 'Herby The Food Truck' in residence, |
were able to park in a lot where a number of American cars were displayed,
walked back to the Harleys and bought a portion of French Fries from 'Herby', all he had on offer that was appealed to us.
It began to rain again while driving through the lush greenery |
Through the tunnel |
and farming lands to our overnight stop in Willisau. |
Once we'd settled in and the rain had stopped, we walked into the town for a wander around and a visit to the bakery.
This old house was in dire need of some TLC |
We enjoyed our walk through the old town of Willisau, the rain stayed away thankfully and hopefully will continue to do so for at least a few days. |
