Into Germany

Back on the road , we drove into Germany to Bad Reichenhall, only about 20kms from Berchtesgaden where we visited with good friends Robyn and Laurie in 2004.  On the drive here, we passed by Wolfgangsee which seemed somehow familiar and as we neared St Gilgen, which had rung bells with us when we'd seen the name on maps, we realised that it was the small lakeside village where we had opted to pay 15 Austrian schillings to go for a ride up the mountain in the cable car rather than buy a meal that day. (We were on a very small budget back in 1969).  It is no longer a small village, has a large carpark which was chokkers with tourist coaches and the ticket office was surrounded with tourists...we did not stop but are very happy to have solved a mystery as we couldn't remember the name or the location of the village or lake.  It will be interesting to have a look at the photos from 1969 to see how much St Gilgen has changed in the ensuing years.
We are now about to go for a bike ride to discover what is in or near Bad Reichenhall.

Your memory amazes me everytime. How do you know that in 1969 it was 15 Austrian Schilling. I cannot remember what I did last week!!!
