Another overcast day with some drizzle from time to time but not enough to be a problem, certainly nothing like the drenching we received a week or so ago.
The path was very good, we reached Linz before we knew it and stopped at a fair on the riverbank opposite the city. It was a little like our Royal Show though smaller, a trade and fun fair with loads of food and drink outlets, market stalls and scary rides.
We didn't venture across the river to visit the city, I may have mentioned previously that with just a few exceptions, neither of us is a big city person, preferring the countryside and small towns and villages.
The path out of Linz ran alongside a very busy main road and while the path was a good one, the traffic noise was overwhelming and so we were pleased when it went away from the road again. We stopped at a cafe overlooking the river and for lunch, had a bowl of fritter soup each. This consisted of thin strips of pancake/crepe in a beef broth and was yummy.
Today's ride was easy but not the most exciting ride we've had.
We rode across a lock to the northern side of the river, took a walk around the fair, stopped for lunch, and a few times to rest sore rear ends, stopped again in Feldkirchen for drinks when the rain briefly threatened, watched a rowing eight go through their paces and arrived in Aschach in the early afternoon.
We went for a walk along the river before dinner, watched a couple of cruise boats go by and are now ready for bed, hoping for some sunshine tomorrow.

The coloured buildings are so quaint and add that certain atmosphere to the villages. Hope the sun shines for you tomorrow. All the best fromMarkand Mireille
