GOURIN to ROSPORDEN

FRIDAY, 14th JUNE, 2019

Yesterday,  (Thursday 13th) was a day of rest, a day of doing very little and no photos taken.
It was a day of washing and drying, reading, snoozing, talking with our hosts....no rain so would have been a good day for riding but a much better day for resting, though we did venture the 4kms into town  for lunch.  As very few shops were open we didn't hang around.

Early on this morning (Friday 14th) the sun was shining brightly but when we sat for breakfast at 8.30am the rain had arrived.  Luckily, it only stayed around for about an hour and had stopped by the time we were ready to leave and say goodbye to our hosts Michael and Sharon.

The ride was down hill to the main road for a 2km ride to the V7 cycle path.
Once again, the scenery along the path was really very pretty,

the path was good and we stopped at Guiscriff where there is a former railway station, once abandoned, later restored and now a museum with a cafe.

As we were leaving, a large number of young schoolchildren accompanied by several teachers rode past, we waited till they'd gone before rejoining the path, still very pretty but now a bit rocky in patches so we bumpedy bumped along for a while.  We stopped again in Scaer, Mike called in at a boulangerie and bought a bagette which we ate for lunch with a little cheese we had with us, and from there it was a short ride into Rosporden.

We checked into our hotel and boiled the billy for coffee, after which we went for a walk around the town.  Dinner was a pizza and a lasagne at a nearby pizzeria, both delicious and apart from the hour or so rainfall this morning, it was a dry day.
